We are seeking an experienced Research Administration Officer to contribute to the continued success of Australia’s leading ophthalmology research institute.
The Research Administration Officer (RAO) will provide support for the management of the full ‘lifecycle’ of research grants including sourcing funding opportunities, liaison with funding bodies, coordination, and support for researchers in the application process, tracking grant outcomes, and administering grant agreements. The RAO is also responsible for coordinating publications and information management on research publications.
You will have appropriate tertiary qualifications (Honours and above with additional research experience), ideally in a science or health science discipline. You will have a broad understanding of the health and medical research environment in Victoria, and working knowledge of how major funding bodies operate. You will also have proven ability to critically review medical research proposals.
We expect that you will have demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, such as negotiation and report writing applicable in both a research and administrative context. You will also have extensive experience with MS Office, online systems and online bibliometric searching. A customer service orientation, and a willingness to pitch in when it’s needed, are part of the way we work at CERA.
